Most times, you bring your own Caravan and book a place on a camping site in the long term with the advantage that Caravans are less expensive the weekend houses, plus you stay flexible with the location.

A prefabricated or completely self-built weekend house will cost you another 60-100,000 EUR. You also have to add cost of building the infrastructure.
You will end up with total cost easily in the range of 150-300.000 EUR for your secondary residence if you decide to build it on your own.

Or you try it on reposée, where you can even save further money by just renting a share for the time you can really use the property.
The most economical way of obtaining a weekend home, as you don´t have the burden of the upfront investment cost of buying or building a weekend home, and you stay flexible as you can always quit the rental agreement and rent another house somewhere else.
